How was your shopping experience looking for "the dress"?

Stressful at times because I think it’s always a big decision for any bride. But every store we went to, both in Nola and Tampa (where my sister lives) were so wonderful and I always had an obsession with Hayley Paige once I saw her gowns so it was a dream to wear one and customize it to make it my own (with a belt and bling straps).

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Probably the very beginning when Sam and I first started touring venues, it then became real and we did it together and just had so much fun imagining which space would work for us.

What drew you to New Orleans as your wedding destination and specifically R&R?

We live here in NOLA and it’s kind of where we first met/fell in love (technically met in BR) and my mom and her whole family is from Louisiana so it just made sense to us to have it in this city we love so much. How can one not fall in love with R&R? We saw it online and knew before ever stepping inside that it would be our favorite, but tried to remain unbiased, then when viewing it, Sam and I just couldn’t resist, it’s so magical and funky and fun just like we like to think we are haha, and once we found out we could stay the night and party till the sun came up? Sold.

How did you two meet??

Sam and I met through our mutual friend (and groomsman!) Alex, I went to high school with Alex and Sam studied abroad at LSU with him! We met when we both came to visit for Mardi Gras one year (but no we did not meet on Bourbon St. )

Tell us about the proposal!

Sam is from England and was living there at the time. One summer my sister and mom joined me to visit England, and Sam proposed at the beautiful park we went on many of our first picnic dates together. Almost the whole family was there so it was wonderful (but I can’t say very surprising when everyone wanted to join us at the park with their cameras).
